105 series shakes

Post by Willy Hilux »

Got the shakes in my 105 series at the moment. Just had a rotation and wheel balance to try to fix the problem, but no good, still there. Feel it real bad around the 100 mark on the highway. Checked uni's and tailshafts, But they look good. Found no play in the panhard rod.

I think its time to check the swivel hubs - wheel bearings or kinpin bearings.

What are other peoples thought??

Aslo have the disconnect in the front drive as well.

I had the shakes really bad on the 100 a few days ago, wasn't until I had a mate jumping on the bullbar while I was underneath that I saw a bit of movement in the panhard.

Had the same prob with my 105......checked the brgs, wheel alignment etc. Tracked it down to the tyres, they'd gone hard and out of round etc....

Yeh the tyre guy said they where slightly old of round, but had them rotated front to back still with the same feel. Got it booked in to get the front end looked at. Haven't got time at the moment to do it myself.
