Tyre Topic - BFG Mud Terrain

I think some peaple are getting riped off I paid $250 for 33x12.5x15 tyre fitted balanced about 12 months ago but I will admit I found a tyre joint that would sell them for cash as in the owner put the money in his pocket. It my second set of KM's last set were 32s got around 80k out of them and still sold 2 of them thay seem to get good life and thay perform on and off road I love them never had a flat touch wood, did pop a bead of when I sliped side ways into a rut at 18 psi but you cant blame the tyre for that.

Here is a pic of my km2's in action. I got hung up by the front diff so I tried to rock out of it but once she stopped moving the tyres grabbed what was left under them and threw it skywards! No I didnt sit there trying to move digging holes either, just the pic was taken at a perfect moment

All the same, i still cant fault the km2's. I was on some loose shaley rock yesterday an d at 40 psi they broke loose a little, as you would expect but once put down to 22psi they grabbed traction everywhere they were pointed!
I still say theyre the best tyre I have ever owned!

hey anyone got some prices on the KM2 in a 315/75/16..
The dollar has been getting better however have the prices changed best i can get is $418.... that wasnt wide tread either they were about $425

I am running 35x12.5x15 KM2's on my 4 inch lifted 80 series and they are just incredible.
They have more on road manners in my opinion than my mates MTZ's and MTR's, Leaves them for dead offroad and are only just behind the claw in mud when your talking about a Radial type M/T.
I picked mine up for $382 per tyre from JAX QUICK FIT TYRES in ST MARY'S NSW
Highly recomended!!! You wil not regret!!!

I've got 265 KM2's on the hilux (06 DC). Offroad, complete weapons, no problems at any pressure above 18 (haven't had a need to go lower).
On road they are a bit different. In the wet they are "interesting". I've gone straight through roundabouts at full lock, and a squirt of juice sees the back end come out. And I find they are very noisy, the missus can't use her Iphone when we are driving...with the windows up!
And this sucker aint light, front bar, dual battery, kaymar rear bar, long range tank, canopy etc...
But they do look the goods and are wearing brilliantly

just did a drive from adelaide to canberra including a nice fast mountain gravel road section, and they have confirmed that they are an awesome tyre.
I got told 40psi on road, and i think its a bit hard, but i'll see how i go.
On fast gravel, 34psi hot seems perfect for my truck, they grip, steer and handle really well.

Considering the bfg Australia website says they do and I have 15 x 8 inch rims and my tyre says KM2 and they are the similar Krawlar pattern then I say otherwise. Might pay to do some research first mate!!!

i paid $355 each for 285/75R16LT KM2's bout 3 weeks ago, but also got a set of AT's fitted to a prado at the same time, so we got a good price. On average $375-385 each.
Just got back from the east coast today- had some MASSIVE rain storms around Ouyen and Manangatang- couldnt see anything and was driving through 2-3" deep standing water for a few hundred meters at around 60kph.
No signs of hydroplaning, still drove straight and true and didnt pull and steered and stopped bloody well for the conditions!
The trailer on its Dunlop Car tyres... Not so good

I paid $435 each for 5 x 315/75/16 KM2's back in October 09 in WA. Since then i have put just over 10,000km on them. After running 2 sets of the KM's, each lasting over 65,000km on a 3t 80 series, i can tell that the KM2's are a better tire, in every respect and terrain!

Ive done some 17000 ks on my km2s now and even with the weight of the troopy they have worn very minimal. I covered most terrains and as far as traction goes they really do a brilliant job. I did manage to slice a sidewall at donolleys creek over easter but I was going up a very shailey track with a lot of dead timber all over the track.... Unsure what sliced it but when I was part way up the track I did say to the missus "well be lucky to make it to the top without puncturing a tyre"

i have been looking very hard to get a set of these and there are only 2 in Vic that i could find, 4 in dubbo and 4 in launceston. No one can order them and the stockist doesnt know when they will be getting any more

I had to wait 4 weeks before i got mine 33x12.5x15 for 5 of them only done 1500km on them so far but very pleased with them so far

With the US dollar crapped out, its a pretty viable proposition, even if you had to wait a month or so for surface freight!
As for mine, they've transfered from the hilux to the TD 100 series now, and seem to be holding up. Coming up on 20,000kms, 90% tar driving, and ive got between 11 and 12mm tread left. For comparison, the MTZ's i had before the KM2's were down to 5mm of tread by this stage...
Only damage i have is one tyre with a few chips in it from being stuffed into the rear of the wheel arch on the hilux, and one rock cut in the sidewall since they went on the cruiser, but the cut hasnt gone past the white rubber layer!
