i think im probly gonna go the 55mm koni big bore adjustables, i dont have alot of info on them but they look pretty good and koni gear is generally top stuff so for $330 each i reckon they will do the trick for me.

Anyone have these shocks or know specifics?

Cheers

Dan has the Koni 90's, and has done Cape york towing a mobile shanty town, numerous high country, fraser, all over Vic trips, and they are still like new. You wont regret them.
Love my Koni's too...I'd get 90's if the wallet was that thick, as you said, Koni is top shelf.
Yeah its a fair step in price from what i can guage. I think i will be getting the whole lot done with 4" king springs and locally made drop boxes at Northern 4wd centre in Wangara for $4400 fully fitted. I reckon it sounds pretty good.

I'm running a 3" EFS suspension lift, extended swaybar brackets, extended brake lines, and castor correction. So far it's done some long highway trips, Sydney and back to Bris a few times. Also done a lot of offroad, Cape last year, Fraser a few times (including that nasty inland track around Dilli) and have nothing but praise for the setup.

They aren't the extreme shocks, just the standard, have never noticed fade on the corro's. I'm running Toyo All Terrains (285x75r16) as when I sat and looked at it, most of the miles done are highway.

They are wearing brilliantly, grip well, are nice and quiet, but bag nicely when dropped down, so far no complaints :) Set of muddies are on the cards for play time, but the AT's stay on for everything else.

Well i still haven't been able to do anything, now im stuck up at fitzroy crossing (getting moxy's, dozers, graders, and my contribution - a fully loaded moxy water cart - horribly bogged in a tailings dam) for another few days then a long drive through the night to do a few days at Newman, then finally back to the house in perth (3000km later), which got fairly hammered by the storm, as did the ute, smashed windscrean and heaps of tiny dints in the roof and bonet, and abeauty in the top of the guard as well :bad-words: , aparently, but i havent seen it yet, wednesday is the day.

Enough of my winge, what i wanted to ask is if the flash new Superior engineering shocks have been out and tested by anyone? if the have, howd they go? and what are they retailing for?

SRC shocks

Post by BIGDAVET86 »

Well i splashed out and ordered a set of the new Superior Engineering shocks this morning. Then getting the rest of the kit through suspension stuff; 4" dobinsons coils, superior drop boxes, lower trailing arms, drag link and panhards, plus a efs extreme steering damper.

As much as i would like to buy locally, i really cant justify the extra price. When i went to order a set of the Koni 88 series shocks seperately, they magically beame $750 per pair, they got $90 more expensive because hey wern't being installed by them, or sold with other products they sell.

So i decide to live dangerously. Anyone else got a set? Im banking on the quality of the rest of their products to show through with these.

Cheers
Dave
