cold start problem
Hi I am having cold starting running problems can anyone assist me. It is as if my car does not have a choke. It is a 1991 LWB Pajero 3 litre manual. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks Fordy

There's been a bit of traffic on the Pajero Club forum about similar problems. From memory, the Idle Speed Controller is a common culprit - can't bump the speed up.
The general consensus seems to be that recon units are a bit hit and miss. It might be better to take a deep breath and buy genuine - if that's the problem. When the engine is warm, does it hold idle as you turn aircon on and off? (Presuming you have aircon...)

Thanks for your reply. The engine idle up unit seems to be working ok both with the air cond on and off. The engine seems to be idling high, but not getting the richer mixture that it needs on early mornings. Otherwise the engine is running very nicely

My last 3.0 had the same problem when I got it. It would start fine warm, but was a rea bear to get going when cold.
My ECU threw me a code, and I changed the coolant temp sensor. Fixed it instantly.
Crappy pic, but it was item "F". This might not be your trouble, but it sounds similar to mine.
