TD42 AC Compressor Mounting

Post by GQRob »

Hi, I'm chasing an AC compressor & Bracket for my '95 TD42 (I have the rest of the stuff brand new from a TB42 kit) As I'm trying to get I good one that'll last am I better off chasing a later model?

Will later models ie gu fit. Did the mounting holes on the block ever change?

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob
The earlier brackets have a different mounting arrangement (four hrorizontal bolts into tabs on the compressor) and the later ones have two vertical bolts and two horizontal bolts into the compressor.
GU brackets will fit and are of the later design ofc course

I have a spare early bracket ( with 4 horizontal bolt holes) if that is what you are after. Do you need the tensioner as well? And I have an early compressor, but I dont think its too good.

Oh the TB brackets are different and dont fit the TD

Patrolapart probably can fix you up with a S/Hand compressor and bracket - I got my compressor from them. However in my experience with AC new compressors are the way to go for longevity.
