Actually I browsing the GM Performance catalogue with a jar of Vaso and I noticed the LS9 makes SFA bottom and mid torque in comparison to the N/A LS motors. It then goes nuts at the top end.
Big-slart check out the 20b's bottom end torque, it may not be what you want for a 4WD. Also you may find the webber setup doesn't work as well for bottom end torque in comparison to a factory manifold or even the latter Land Rover Thor manifolds. These will limit top end power though.
You might also talk to Eastern WheelWorks about rims for a duel setup. They can probably do rims that are offset to outside of the rim area and then maybe run these back to back which is how trucks might be??? I'd imagine these to be heaps cheaper than Walker Evans.

I think you're starting with the wrong vehicle for your first hardcore 4WD.
The RocstaJeep is way too much 4x4 for a beginner.
Perhaps start with something simple like a Patrol. Sure, they're not that good offroad. And you're going to have to make a few lifestyle changes.
Like, pulling a few front teeth out (getting them smashed out is way cooler). Start wearing thongs and flanno's everywhere (Really old stubbie shorts are also cool).
But, all you need to make a Patrol capable of doing some firetrails and beach trails is some rattle can black rims, a set of bighorns and 200 or so supercheap lights. (just rip the muffler off, and drive everywhere at 4000 rpm to be really cool!).
Of course you could also apply the above to LandCruisers, Hilux's as well

This is very discouraging, I come here asking for advice not to be mocked. If you have nothing constructive to add then please just leave it.
After looking at some of the people whos posted own vehicles i would not be mocking anyone elses ideas.
I have sat down and spoken to TW and to discuss it and a build plan is now in place, thanks to their advice. I came to realise some of collins advice was not very good in regards to the earlier diff choices so i wont be dealing with him now.

and looking at 40 inch tyres
After reflecting on it, i have decided a cheque book build is the way to go as i dont have the time to get this finished in a year so will be handled entirely by TW, and solid.

Why do all this to a Rocsta? Seems like a bizarre choice of vehicle when you could get a real Jeep and buy off the shelf longarms and off the shelf dana 60's ready to bolt in, if you're for real you are just making it so much harder for yourself starting with a Rocsta. Oh, and instead of boring out a Rover 3.5 maybe stick in P76 4.4lt V8 with Rover heads on it. I agree, I really wouldn't bore out a 3.5 Rover when for very little more you can just buy a 3.9 V8 (which is the same capacity as the 4.0 V8). Rather than fart around, many of the Rock Crawlers were running the ZF and LT230 that came behind the Rover V8 and just added a crawler gear to the transfer. I think Sam has previously said 1350 unis and then the strength in the D60, propshafts and LT230 are all very similar. It just sounds like you're spending dosh where you dont need to.

Anyway some really good ideas are coming to the surface with this build.
Dana 70 duallies at both ends with skid steer. Unimprovable turnig circle, unimprovable traction(unless you go tank trax) (8x14inch wide tyres= 112 inches of ground contact)
