hey i have a gu patrol wagon and am getting 2inch flexy coils and 50mm spacers on front and 30mm on the rear, i was wondeing what sort of shocks a should get either 2" or 3". i thought 3" would be better because i will be basically be having 3-4 inch on front and 3inch on back so thought that might be the best solution. but just wondering on your guys thoughts.
in my gq i have the 3" flexy coils and i just love them they give alot of travel and i also have pro comp shocks and it is the best set up i have used yet. i have had rancho and tough dog and the pro comp are the best iv used check out suspention stuff he is very good to deal with

Why dont you just go 3-4" flexy coils instead of 2" with 2" of spacers?
You may already know all of this, and if you do skip this paragraph!!
Are the coils 2nd hand? Because the coils really are the cheapest part of the suspension lift. Especially if you are going 4" of lift, where you require panhards, castor correction(not just bushes), extended brake lines, sway bar extensions, new drag link and adjustable rear upper arms. You could cheap out and not do some of these, but you will be asking for trouble.
In answer to your question, i would be running a 3" extended shock with the 2" flexy coils without spacers (the whole idea of the flexy coil is to run longer shocks). With spacers (making it a 4" coil basically) you could prob run a 4" shock. BUT with a real 4" flexy with no spacers, you could have a 5-6" shock.
Personally, i'd never get new coils and add spacers. I'd just get a longer coil.

Regardless on whether you have factored the extended drag link, panhards, castor correction, etc into the equation for your lift or not why would you bother on spacers?
Anything above 2" lift is illegal anyway, so as mike said previously you may as well go 4" coils (and get better flex), instead of 2" coil and 2" spacer.
I have 2" flexy coils and 2" extended shocks and the only thing i would change is longer shocks as the coils still have a bit to give when the shocks reach full extension. With only the 2" coil lift i didn't have to change any of my arm setup underneath (i have changed some now due to parts being old), so that could save you some coin...

just an idea mate, this is my old kit, which has 3" flexis with 5" boss adjustable shocks, worked really well. i would say run a 3" and put 15mm packers up front.
