Can you still get mongrel tire made?

Last time I checked, about 2+ years ago, your could still get mongrel tire made as long as you suplied the cases... cant find any thing on the net just wondering if any one has had any recient experiance with them?

Thought that might be the case.... Then dose anyone have thoughts on hardcore road leagal tire, just brands/pattern can do the research myself...

Exactly what I was going to say. The mt117 extreme is now available in 31, 33, and 35 in 15 and 16 inch rim size. Same pattern as the mongrel (simex) style but befinately more agressive in the side lugs than the mongrels. I unfortunately havent had any experience with them.... not yet anyway :D
Jabber gone. Now have 98 nissan terrano and a 94 4.2ldiesel rv troopy on 33s slowly getting the fancy bits. How the hell do I change my user name?

I have ........ I put a set of 33"MT117 extremes on my GQ LWB and got about 15000 k's out of them they were the only set of tyres i had so most of the miles were blacktop ......... oh and the 33" is a 31" carcass with 25mm of tread depth hense the 33" sizing .

I just moved to QLD and hear that the local pigs are red hot on over size and non-radial tires.. that why i was interested in the retreads again cos a far as i know non-radial tire are a nono...
oh and the 33" is a 31" carcass with 25mm of tread depth hense the 33" sizing .
The mongrels i have are 34"ish, 33" case, and wear great on the road. How are these silverstone on the tar as i have to drive from enoggera to glasshouse ect for my wheelin....
