fuel pump help

Post by ryman94 »

My feroza wont start , we have checked all the spark plugs and it has spark but it isnt pumping fuel, what im trying to find out here is if the feroza has a fuel pump inside the tank , or is it located on the right side chassis rail? we checked the fues'es and replaced them and before we go and swap the fuel pump we need to know if theres an internal one like in alot of other cars or is it on the outside of the tank?

The fuel pump is at the rear of the car near the fuel tank. A simple way to check is when your about to turn the motor on listen for the fuel pump to make a noise. If this noise is absent then your fuel pump is gone.

yeh thanks man , we took the fuel line out at where it joins onto the fuel filter and kicked the engine over and there was no sound and no fuel pumping through the line , fues'es are all good so it must be the pump

Don't discount dirty connections or possibly a dead relay. You can perform a fuel pump test from the ECU diagnostic plug too - have a look in the workshop manual if you have it.

I had the same problem with my feroza, turned out to be crap in the fuel lines or something like that as when the lines and pump were cleaned out a bit it started working again. There was no noise before it was taken out and no noise when hooked up to a battery when out, after cleaning it it worked again.
