"62 series" would mean petrol, but 12HT is turbo diesel..... if it is a 12HT, the pick up for the taco is mounted in the bellhousing (passenger side if I remember correctly), gets the signal from the fly wheel. Maybe check that this is ok, and the wiring is still good/connected. Pretty sure the 2H senders/pick ups are the same. If you can get another one to try and it still doesnt work, might be in the wiring, or the taco itself......
My 60 series rebuild....

60 series tacho
The tacho themselves are the main problem,
Ive owned 5 60 series and 3 out 5 of them havnt worked,
I just changed the tacho in the dash on all of them and they worked fine. Ive kept the same tacho from all of them before i sold them but
Pull the old tacho out of your dash and fit a 2" after market one in the same hole..thats a common thing these days as the 60 series tachos are hard to find in working condition.

If the instrument cluster is anything like the early 75 ser, you may find that the flexible circuit board on the back of the cluster has started to seperate (the copper strips have lifted of the plastic backing) My 75 did this, I just glued it all back down and everything worked again and it stopped blowing fuses.
Don't take life too seriously...it isn't permanent.
The guages are all seperate in the 60's, unscrew the dash cluster and they all can be removed seperately.BadMav wrote:If the instrument cluster is anything like the early 75 ser, you may find that the flexible circuit board on the back of the cluster has started to seperate (the copper strips have lifted of the plastic backing) My 75 did this, I just glued it all back down and everything worked again and it stopped blowing fuses.
My commodore had that problem on the back of the cluster though
