A bloke at work has a late 70's ford with, I believe, a cleveland v8 on gas
Normally the engine starts & runs fine however if it stalls or is turned off it will not start again, untill left for 10 or 20 minutes. Then it will go again no worries.
Its run only on gas, no petrol.
Any suggestions what could be going on?

I agree with Athol here, plus it might be running to rich, fine for when it is cold, depending on the system some basic LPG systems are very sensitive to temp, being that it is on an old V8 it is most likely it does not have a cold air induction system that modern cars use, it probably is just picking up air out of a hot engine bay.Athol wrote:If there is a prime solenoid in the gas system (intended to make cold starts easier), it may be set up without a thermal switch, meaning that it primes and floods when warm.
Because it is already a gas, temperature makes a big difference, many LPG systems using an old sports air filter style system (diaphragm and mixer inside aircleaner ah la Garretson, Sprintgas) can change state of tune just by closing the bonnet LOL. The old Impco wasn't that sensitive as it was hard to get it perfect in the first place ROFL.
