Post by robbo_000 »

hey everyone, im really new to the 4x4 scene and these wheels and sizings and what can fit IFS and so forth is giving me a hadache so i thaught id post up and find out from someone who knows what there talking about:

car: 2004 Hilux, 3.4 v6, single cab, tray back.

im just wondering what size rims and tyres your able to fit on something like this ? if i were to put mud tyres on it down the road and so forth, what are the things i should know about.

Hey mate im not sure whats legal in your state so you might want to find out that first. If your not too fussed about that then read on -

If you crank the torsion bars up and whack in a 2inch bodylift you can fit 33x12.5 no worries. If your looking for a bit more height you can stick in the ball joint spacers. If you get some lifted rear springs and a new set of shocks it doesnt ride too badly either. If you do go ahead with this though id be putting in a locker (front or back either way its going to make a hell of a difference) so its not all show and no go.
i heart my hilux

If you have standard suspension without lift you can fit 31 inch mud tyres.
I have an 01 lux with 2 inch suspension lift and negative off set rims and have 32 inch muddies, with no scrubbing after a bit of a trim of the inner front gaurds

Ive got an 03 IFS Lux with no lift at all, completely standard, and 31 inch MTZs fit fine. The only place they may rub is your mudflaps, so i just took them off, now no rubbing at all.
