Looking at getting this done to my TD42T GQ auto Patrol. Have done a search and most of the threads are a couple years old.
I have seen a lot of diesel 4x4's with LPG stickers so there must be some conversion places out there that are able to do the job properly.
Who has had it done and where abouts in and around Melbourne is prefered north, south, east or west doesn't matter the end result is what counts

I don't believe putting Lpg on your diesel is good value for money

Gooday, i put my patrol,GU 4.2 2000 wagon on diesel/gas about 2 1/2 years ago. If you do a lot of kls go for it. If you want more power, want more torque, if you want better fuel economy, if you want a quieter motor, if you want to help the enviroment just do it. I did not lose my aux. tank.

Temps have increased from say from 560 diesel only at 110 kls to 625 at the same speed. I got the Diesel/gas brand installed. Could not be happier.The additional power when in 4x4 is fantastic.

My Hilux has DGAS from when I got it, there is definitely more power when running the combo over straight DSL, better economy, revs a bit easier, I definitely recommend it, especially if you have a turbo, which I don't.
No idea where it was fitted but it's the diesel gas australia brand.
I can't see many problems with it, if I need to I can just remove the pipe where it injects into the intake and it's back to stock.

Have a 2.8 TD Nissan Wagon 1995. Put a Diesel Gas Aust. system on it and have had nothing but trouble, wont stay in tune, wouldn,t deliver enough gas so DGA drilled out the (Bucket Valve?) after replacing the computer and numerous attempts to tune the system. Now I have too much gas going into the motor so I tuned it by tuning down the gas rooster on the bottle, allowing only a trickle of gas into the system. There is a marginal increase in power, economy but it still blows smoke and the oil is the same condition at oil changes. On economy it is only cheaper to run when gas is below 50% that of diesel. So far it will take me about 40 years to recoup the cost. DGA are very good at sticking their heads in the sand and blaming everyone and everything except their product. Would I put another unit on NO WAY.
OK I always knew asking this question on the forum would open a can of worms but the reason why I chose this option over other ways of getting addtional power is for economy reasons.
Now I have a LWB GQ factory auto with lots of additional weight added due to accesories. I added a safari turbo kit three years ago with good effect but it also added to the fuel usage.
I am as everyone is looking for more power but dont want to effect fuel usage any further.
The Patrol is presently using about 16lt per hundred in city guise and when loaded offroad with 35 pede's and camping gear pushes into the 20's.
Now I know that it is heavy and I know that the gearing isn't 100% but 16lt per hundred when on road pushing 265/75/16 tyres is high.
What else can be done for around the $2000 mark that will assit power and not push fuel usage any higher??

alot of people see an increase in power, but any diesel savings are soaked up bu the extra gas.
if there is any overall saving we are talking cents per 100km.
mate of mine has a diesel rodeo and put gas on it, 2 years later he has been back to the fitgters twice tyhen eveutually bvack to the manufacturer. none of them can get it to run more efficient.

Please dont get me wrong. I cant understand your last comment about extra power but no cost savings, you obviously have not got your own car converted, or done by a guy who knows what he is doing. From my experience on my car with a Diesel/Gas Aust. system fitted by Dave Stuart in Pakenham Vic. would be saving in total about $10.- $15.00 a tank of diesel and a tank of gas. I know this is not a great amount but averages 10% savings per fill. And believe me i am very aware of any savings and the other benefits that go with it.

i dont know if it because your car is auto but i run mine on 35" mud tyres all the time. It weighs 2800 kg and i have 6" lift and a roof rack i still get 13.6l per 100. Maybe a tune and some new injectors could get you some fuel savings for the same amount of power an intercooler and a nice turbo will help also as you will increase torque so you will find it easyer to carry speed up hills so less loud pedal will be required.

The ute was fitted with the system (sorry dont know which brand) results sucked, car taken back, bit better but still using more fuel than before.
Then taken to another fitter of the system in brisbane rather than sydney who again tried to achieve claimed power and fuel savings - failed.
Then taken direct to the manufacturer of the kit - now makes claimed power increase at close to but not quite origional fuel ecconomy. i.e slight but negligable increase in running costs.
I discussed with a guy on here a while ago on a patrol who was stoked that he was saving a fortune on his diesel gas conversion running costs. I felt bad but had to break his heart as his maths skills sucked and he was saving less than 1 dollar per 1000km so it was only going to take over half million km to get his money back.
Yes you will see power increase, how much power seems to vary ALOT. You may use a little less or a little more fuel again results are varied.
Gazza im glad your happy with the system, thats awsome. However your the first person Ive heard of who has been satisfied with the product fully.
As opposed to saying, well yeah its better but nothing like they said it would be, and no one can fix it and it cost $$$. etc etc.

fair coments by all BUT still no one seems to have answered the question of what would you do to the engine for the same approx costs to get more power with the same or even slightly better economy providing the engine is serviced reasonably well.

im running dieselgas on my GQ TD42. im running a bigger pump and 18 psi of boost. wen the gas is turned on im getting 30hp more than i do without it. i can get that turned up more so there is more gas going in therefor increase in power. and it definately gives a lot more torque. im very happy with it.

im not sure wat kind of pump it is running. definately not standard though. i bought it off a mate who had it on his patrol for a while. he bought it off his mate who made the pump.
im running 35" claws on 15 x 10 sunrasia rims.
i got the pump fitted by the guy who made the pump. i can give you his details if you like.
When i first bought the car it had a standard pump on it with the diesel gas and it was running around 10 psi boost. it had 104 hp in 2 wheel drive with the 35's. that was running gas for more economy than power.
When i got the new pump the hp without gas went up to 150hp. Then with the gas turned up a bit it gave it 180hp running 18 psi of boost.
The gas can go up more but my turbo is maxxed out and it isn't intercooled yet so thats as far as i want to push it for now.
If it was intercooled with a bigger turbo it will easily make 220hp with 35's. just in the process of doing that now. the gas can be turned up a fair bit more. just depends how you want your fuel economy. im not really worried as mine is only a weekend driver.
all the work was done on the sunny coast
