Just wondering if anyone could clear something up for me.
I was looking at getting one of those turbosmart controllers to have a everyday running boost pressure and adjust it when you want more boost.
I have seen this set up on Albens old 75 at cruiser park but it raises a question.
What happens to fuel levels?
I may be missing something completely but wouldnt more boost need more fuel??? I am sure that fuel on a mechanical pump diesel could not be varied from inside the cab.?
Does the motor just put up with high fuel levels at the lower boost pressure?Do they just get set up for max fuel at max boost and blow smoke the rest of the time????

i ran an equivalent product on my Surf it was an adjustable bleed valve thingy by 'TurboXS', i upped the boost from 8 to 12 psi and it made shyteloads of difference. The surfs run fairly rich on diesel anyway, i'm sure that's why they all pump out heaps of smoke. But yes, it made a difference without doing anything else, but your best off doing it them getting the truck dynotuned by someone who knows what they are doing.
Maybe an intercooler from the wreckers may help too.

On the diesals they can be fitted with a rising rate aneroid (i think thats what its called) that can up the fuel as the boost is upped..
Check with one of the shops that fit and seel such items .. or even turbosmart themsleves ...
