i have a 1.3 litre sierra ute with a 5 spd and am getting only 14-16 litres per hundered is this normal???

What modifications do you have?

I was getting about 300km a tank when my seirra was stock.
They’re not really as economical as most people believe them to be

none its stock for lift, tyres, and engine. apart from extractors but they should help consumption

about 300 for a 40litre tank is what i'm getting.
but that sux my rangie gets 12 on the highway

I have a stock as rock 1992 swb with extractors and sports exhaust and it gets 8.5lt per hundred.......

Sounds like your choke must be jammed on or something. My stock sierra gets between 8-9L/100km. I only got that consumption with 32's and bigger carbs. Not leaking it out on to the ground are you?

I get about 9l/100km, and my haltech's tune is out at the moment. Check your choke isn't jammed on and that your timing and vacuum advance setup is working correctly. Sounds like you need to give it a good tune and check over. Driving style and type of driving done can also play a huge part in economy. As can tyre pressure.

if you have big tyres with no gearing changes then you will have very poor fuel economy.

i just bought myself a zook with toyota 5k 1.5ltr engine and it does 200 per tank... really starting to hurt my wallet.

Depends on your current ratios and tyre size. I don't know what the ratio's are in the toyota box, figuing that out is probably the first step...
My tyre size are 32 inch not quite sure what else i have.
i've recently went to get a longer gearstick from toyota wreckers and they say the gearstick i have is not toyota.
I am assuming the person who did this conversion used an adaptor for the standard suzi box?

how do i find out what ratio gearbox i have?

Get some photos of the box and someone should be able to tell you whether its zook or toyota.
