having trouble got new radiator thermostat what else to do???
Have a look at your clutch fan. These do not last forever and are well known to fail. Put some cardboard in front of the radiator turn on the air and use the hand throttle for a fast idle. Sit back and wait. You will here if the fan locks up as it will roar quite noticeably. If it doesn't replace it. Just be carefull that you don't cook it.
Think I just fixed my overheating issues on the 99' GU TD42T.
Seems to have been a fueling issue. Cleaned out the thimble in the injector pump, and fitted a lift pump and temps are now under control.
The injector pump will retard/advance if it has trouble getting fuel, this is what I think was causing me my grief.
