Don't buy from a Maxxis retailer and they will be heaps cheaper.

bob jane seeems to be the cheapest ive found lately

4 years ago i bought 32x11 bighorns for my hilux for $220 each, over the years i drove mud, rock, sand road and love them.done around 24000ks on them and they had about 60% left after not really looking after them.aired too low on road for months at a time or not aired down at other times for the bush so they had a few cuts

i sold them 5 weeks ago and got 33x12 bighorns from bobjane for $240 each fitted  love them, they are a great all rounder IMO,quiet onroad, and good on rock.A mate got some last week for $207 in a 33 so they have to be one of the best value tyres. He has gone from running 33 BFGs on his zuk and first trip on the bighorns last weekend really impressed him
sierra truggy,37 sticky treps,propane,6.5s and disconnect,lux diffs with spools,16" fox shox,hydro steer.

Wow, that's pretty awesome! How did you get 125,000km out of them? If I can get close to 100,000km on my old Paj, I will be very happy! :D

I had Horns on both my last two trucks (33x12.5x15s), excellent tyre off road, bag down really well, alright in the sand too. I didn't find them too noisy on the road tho, not for a muddy anyway. Between them and BFG MTs they are the only sets of tyres I have ever worn out. Not sure of the kilometres, but over 2 years with a detroit front and welded rear diffed daily driver they did very well. When the Centipedes wear out on the mav (came on the car), a set of Horns will go on. Very happy :D

anyone have 31x10.5r15's they can do a real-world measurement on? I know maxxis are notoriously undersized and while my simex's arent due for replacement for a while i'm getting as much research done as possible now =)

i have had mine for 3 weeks now and managed to put a hole the size of a tennis ball in the side wall, but i think that might have had more to do with running 42 psi and rolling onto a root. other wise i cant fault them, dosent matter any way now that some one decided to borrow my truck while i was asleep and put it thru a brick fence

oh there is also no metal what so ever in the side walls im running 33 x 12,5 r 15s

Bought a set of these 2 years ago now (paid around $260ea fitted in 33's), done about 35 000ks on them and can't say enough good things about them. My set have seen a good mix of road, hard 4x4ing, and touring on the oodnadatta track and around alice springs. Didn't even get a puncture.

Most still have about 8mm tread left (two got badly worn due to my wheel alignment) but if it wasn't for that I don't see any reason why I wouldn't expect to see 60 000 + out of them if rotated regularily.

And they seem to perform well everywhere, last weekend I was out in the mud and made it up the greasy hills easier than a locked GU with MTZ's.

my 285-70-17s are 2/3s worns after 2o,000km of medium to hard driving. they were wearing great for the first 10g but now i live in the sticks and the speed is constantly over 110kmh they are wearing down so fast i can almost tell the difference between the start and the finish of the 30min trip to town
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
