GQ diff mounted handbrake.

Just wondering if anybody has modded GQ disc rear for handbrake and what gear did you use , can't have a tailshaft handbrake as it won't fit , Thanks Paul.
BLOWNZUK 1.3 efi,sc14 supercharger,hilux diffs,detroit lockers,stage 4 rockhopper,6 point cage,35 muddies.

i believe the 4.8 GUs had a diff mounted hand brake not sure of the set up though.
might be worth looking into.......
Keep it shiny side up!
Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc

Correct the 4.8 did have the diff mounted handbrake.
Although, the brakes are some what bigger on the 4.8's diff tho, if you do fit a complete diff ( wheel to wheel ) the car will handle like crap unless the front diff width is the same as the rear.

Good luck finding one. I spent months trying to get one from a 4.8 to fit into my 80 with GU diffs. Ended up having to do a transfer case disc setup.

Even the wreckers who swore black and blue they ghad the right setup kept sending standard GU rear brakes and axles. Very frustrating experience.

Professor fitted cutting brakes to a Nissan diff but you would think they could easily be converted to handbrake callipers.
