Patrol front /rear diff gears the same?

Post by BadMav »

I know sounds like a dumb question and it's probably been answered already but I seached and found nothing?. Anyway, as stated, are the front and rear diff gears the same. Also are the centres the same? (I've only ever swapped cruiser diffs).

Any info is welcome, thanks.

front diff is a Hi Pinion rear is not,so diff gears would be different

some people have put front diff head in rear, need to change carrier to suit axles etc plus other mods,so no not a streight swap like the toyotas

As above, and also, front axles are 31 spline, rears are 33 spline.
If only some one would start manufacturing aftermarket 33 spline front axles, then every one could have cheap front LSD's.

Pathfinders run a 31spline H233b diff with lsd and with small mods fits the front of a patrol.
