TD42 FMIC

Post by mickyd555 »

Im looking for a FMIC for my GU TD42 running 19PSI. My biggest question is weather i should get one with 2.5" or 3" pipe inlets? Will a larger pipe (3") add more lag given that the turbo will be filling a larger volume of pipe before actually reaching the engine? The crossover pipe at the moment is about 2-2.5" so that is the way im leaning at the moment.

anyone else got any input?

I am also looking for a decent supplier as i have heard some stories about the cheapo Ebay jobbies

I have a PWR cooler, running 2.5" pipes and run anywhere between 23 - 30 psi no issue.

I have seen a few cheap ebay options and they also work well but a pwr was only $450 for a 550 wide cooler so wasnt a big difference in cost.

I was told they're wouldnt be much issue with lag, and my inlet temps are fine I doubt you would see a difference between the two.

That is incorrect if you go down to PWR you can watch them making the cores. But maybe that is just for a few different ones not there entire range.

yeh i have looked at his stuff and although i have no doubt there coolers are awesome and there R&D is thourough i cant justify the prices he is charging for any of his 4wd/patrol specific stuff. If i can spend ~$500 on a PWR off the shelf and have good efficiency thats good, to spend another grand on top for a few extra HP in our game (mine especially) does not add up.
