would anyone know the weight difference between a cast bock Ecotec V6 and an all alloy L76 V8 ??

Ecotec V6 - 178kg (w/accessories)

Alloytec V6 - 168kg (w/accessories)

Cast block 253 Red V8 - 213kg (w/accessories)

Alum block LS1 - LS7 V8 - 205-228kg (w/accessories)


So somewhere inbetween there, hope that helps :)

1uz-fe + r154 gearbox = 486 pounds = 220kg
r154 weighs 115 pounds = 52kg

1uz-fe v8 weighs 168kgs on its own inc all accessories.

Win.

EDIT: A quick google got me this for a TB42:
About 280 - 300kg or about 50kg less without manifolds, alt, pumps etc.

i have not weightd it myself but my l98 crate motor in its original GM cardboard crate had 98kg on the gm sticker. no accessories though.
