Im not sure i can work out how it would cost 12,000?

The motor complete with loom, computer etc ready to drop in and run is gonna cost me around 3-4000 possibly less.

Some sparky work maybe up to 1000

You maybe able to save on some and some things will blow out but you still have fuel & water hoses, sump mods, gauges, engineer certificate, oils, filters, starter motors, throttle cable, air intakes, change of suspension height because of the lighter motor and much more and you may think that you can reuse your old stuff but most of the time you wont be able to. I have done and seen a lot of conversions and I do not know one person whose budget has not blown out. Good luck.

The thing is i wouldnt want to run a 350 carby motor without gas, i dont want to run gas.
This is why im thinking of opting for the injected motor.

Is TBI an option? I stumbled across TBI kits for older chevs online while looking for something completely different the other day.

You could sell the 60 and upgrade to something newer like an 80. The 60 is a good old tough truck but must be getting old in the tooth. I would much rather walk than drive an Excel. .

Yeah theres a good thought but not many around here that easy to pick up, insurance usually takes them or the owner strips the good bits and wants too much for it.

If you use the commo fuel pump with built in reg new costs about $185 I got mine with motor free as they are super easy to find at wreckers, same with thermo fans. Clutch wouldn't be more than $500 the radiator from the chev diesel should be able to keep the Ls1 cool my stock 20yr old radiator can and marks block hugger extractors cost $700. Also can get the computer unlocked a lot cheaper than that as you can get it unlocked and a tune for about $700.
A good 2nd hand Ls1 are way cheaper than that too crate engines cost almost that much.
