2.4L to 2.8L

Post by tock »

Hey guys just wondering if anyone can give me any info bout changing a 2.4 to a 2.8L. My 2.4 looks like it has died and i was thinking a 2.8 could give me a lil more grunt, especially if its turbo ed

is it a fairly straight forward conversion?

if not what needs to be changed?
Thanks for the info.

i just got mine mod plated, and transport just passed it like 1 1/2 hours ago. its got to be the easiest conversion ever, use the 2.8 bell housing you will need the 2.8 fan, throtle cable, you can use the 2.8 radiator, make sure you get the crossover pipe with the radiator. you need 2.8 hoses.

i had to use the 2.4 alternater engine mount on the 2.8 so i could run my 2.4 alternator. then you have to play with the glow plug wires so they work. i didnt use one of the wires, i just taped it up.

as for a turbo just go out and get a denco kit or something that comes complete. its the easiest way..
