You're a welder asking how to repair a weld?

I assume you're talking about the weld on a leaf spring hanger? Secure the plate to the chassis so it can't move, grind back the original weld, and weld it back up.

Are you talking about the actual shackle or the mount fixed to the chassis? Normally shackles aren't welded for that reason. If it is the shackle, toss it and make a new one, don't stuff around with it.
Don't take life too seriously...it isn't permanent.

Couldn't help it.

If you are talking the plate, just clamp it to the chassis, no need to take it right off. grind the cracked weld right off, make sure theres no crap still on either surface then just weld it as you would normally weld mild steel. No tricks.

Have you considered trading for a Jeep Wrangler?

Very common on early MQ's with the steel top sleeve.
Also run a small reinforcing plate on the side or it WILL crack again.
Keep the bush well greased or if it siezes it will strain the joint more.
