OK so I am sick of the "wobble" in the steering of the GQ so I am considering re-positioning the steering dampner to something like an 80 series setup, ie one end off the cross member in the very front and the other on the upper steering link. Or like the Hilux setup, ie one end on the diff housing and the other on the lower steering link.
Looking for pros and cons?? If anyone has tried it??
The way is see it is you need to have your steering dampner attached to some part of the truck that doesn't move in order to provide more/better use of the dampner.
I don't like RTC dampners, they tend to hide problems rather than solve any and I have used Ironman, Dobinson and Cofap (TJM) dampners and the wobble is still there. Its not bad, but it bugs the crap out of me on long drives.
I have searched here and the patrol forum and found nothing.

ok if above is true i would be looking more closely at what is causing the wobble ! 9 times out of 10 its wheel bearings then panhard bushes , control arm bushes, shocks etc etc , if all these are ok , IT WILL NOT WOBBLE !
