Are these the same. Just picked up a 97 GQ water damaged at auction and will be bringing home with me my 4.2 diesel turbo and gear box. Just wondered if the diffs in this late petrol would be ok, save stacking my diffs in container
thanks
John

4.2 diesel & 4.2 petrol diffs
4.1. I dont think you would wanna go any faster than that. Patrols dont go slow enough as it is.
Also theres a good chance that the ratios will be the same. Have alook on the compliance plate. Next to the trans code there will be a code that starts off with a HG???????
HG39 = 3.9:1
HG41 = 4.1:1
HG43
HG46
HG35 (gu petrol auto)
If both engines where 4.2lt and manual. Then the ratios are likely to be the same.
you get the picture. There where no other factory ratios.
