are FJ40 split cases same as 75 series?

Post by rockcrawler31 »

Can anyone tell me if the the split transfer case from a HZJ75 series is the same bolt pattern, spline and everything else as the case from an FJ40 landcruiser?

the reason i ask is that there is a reduction box available from Klune that will fit a 40 series landcruiser that was available in the US, and it would be perfect if it would fit up to my 75 series T case.

the product in question is here

from the toyota FAQ, it appears both are 19 spline. that is as long as we're talking about the one behind the H55F yeah?

got a rough price on that badboy? i'm intrigued and would definately make the drivetrain space to fit one.

Looks like a good bit of kit....would be interesting to see how much, and how much length it adds to the driveline.

All i know about my box is that it's the original split case behind a 1HZ 1991 model HZJ75. I guess i would have to consider if the union between the tcase and tranny would have the same bolt pattern with the fj40 version and not just spline count.

I don't know about price but in other forums where the question has been asked about the choice of stakII or Atlas, some have suggested it is cheaper to go a NP jeep trans and a klune for better cost effectiveness. So sounds like it would be way cheaper than the 2400 for an atlas or stak.

I'm on nights in the middle of the desert so if anyone wants to ring chris at locktup and see what price he can arrange to get them in at for a bulk order i'd very interested.

Same bolt pattern. Same everything.

There is a few minor differences. Like some long assed bolts, shifter needs to be tweaked, and so on. I have bolted 4 speed t-cases up to 5 speeds. Also put a 5 speed t-case onto a 4 speed. BUT...

Its not bolt right on. There is some minor adjustments needed, but just shifters and some longer bolts.
hands and mums dont count!!!
