What is the max sping height that can be engineered in N,S,W. will custome bar's and sliders be ok. Will 35's be engineered.

Engineering Questions
I'm in the process of getting my GU (dual cab cut) engineered at the moment.
The main factor are the headlights, they can't be more than 1200mm off the ground (don't know though whether it's top or centre/bottom of light?).
Mine will be engineered on 35"s so I assume the GQ should be ok too, might need bigger brakes? That's why the GU is ok on 35"s, big brakes and strong diffs.
You will need sway bars front and rear, mudflaps must be to the centre of the wheel.
I have a 5" lift and 35"s (which measure 34") and I'm just under the 1200mm........ So I'd say you should be safe with a 4" lift.
Best to see an engineer and talk about what you want to do, BEFORE you do it if possible. If the engineer is involved from the beginning it's a lot easier and less hassles.
EDIT: Sliders shouldn't be a problem, custom bar should be ok too as long as there is no potruding parts (stingers etc. not allowed).

you will find it very hard to get 35s engineered unless you upgrade to a front gu diff so you have bigger brakes to pass braking test
and even then it wont be easy !
fix the brake proportioning valve bracket too !

Yep, you're on the mark mate. Between $900 - $1500 is about right.
I have paid $100 for initial inspection before I started the chop and then $200 for the engineer to come out and check again before fully welding.
And around $1000 for the report.
But again, you're better off just talking to an engineer, he will be happy to point you in the right direction. It's worth it to make an appointment and just pay him to have a look and give you advice on what to do/not to do.
That will also make it easy to get it passed by him.
