Roller Drawer Latches
Hi all,
I know this has been asked before (albeit a while back), but there was never any real answer to the issue.
I'm on the hunt for some latches for my roller drawer setup. I have been to 7-8 hardware stores (big and small), several locksmiths, trolled through the 4x4 websites and also the internet in general.
No luck.
I have emailed Outback 4WD Interior Accessories (Outback Roller Drawers) to see if they'll sell me a latch assembly (grab handle/slam latch) - so i'll have to wait on that.
I've found five or six other options, however the only really practical/good looking item i can find are items like Outback or Black Widow units.
What has everyone else used on their drawers?

I just got an email back from 4WD Interior Accessories.
I'm not sure how to take the "retro change over" part, but i'm assuming it means "two full kits for $145", which is bloody cheap compared to some of the other items i've found (ranging from $80 to $180 per lock).Eric wrote:Hi Coxy, slam latch handles are sold as a retro change over kit. what they mean by 'retro fit' is it's a kit to let people with older style drawers fit the newer latches.
It's also a great way for guys making their own to get flash looking handles for a reasonable price because they buy so many that they get a good buy price.

Shit yeah! Mine are "manufactured", however the bolt style lock that was on it looked cheap, and clearly wasn't handling the job too well.love_mud wrote:Thats cheap as for good handles ..I might get a set for the drawers I am making .. they add a bit of a professional touch to some DIY
I'll post up when i get a reply!
