Fuel consumption normal onroad driving

Post by Damo4x4 »

Im looking at getting either a 1.3l Zook, or a 2.8TD Rocky and was wondering what I could expect out of the Zook engine when it comes to economy. If people could post there average economy it would be a great help.

Cheers,

Damo.

I get around 350k's to a tank. That is flat knacker everywhere and it loves it. Have tried to drive conservative and get a good number of k's up but can't help myself.

due to our new drakonian speed laws and my speedo being somewhat inaccurate .. I have been sitting around the 85 Kph mark on my speedo ( abot 94 95 Pph really) I have been getting around 10 litres per 100Kms with SPOA warmed 1.6 and 31's .. normally I drove it foot to the floor everywhere .. was getting about 5 Kms per litre .. who would have guessed

Lucky you, my aircon doesn't work :( don't know what's with it... taking the car in this week (still under warranty though).

My 1.6lt Grand Vitara Soft-Top is doing between 450 and 500kms per 50lts... (running on an automatic transmission)

The tank is 55 but I have the habit of fuelling up when it gets to "E"!

Just out of curiosity, dad's Daihatsu Charade will actually go almost 1/4 of a tank below "E" before it becomes evident you should really be idling your way to the next gas station... at least it's plenty of warning!

when I had stock tyres on recently, with stock gearing, modified 1.3ltr engine and a very heavy right foot I was getting around 320-350 out of a very dinted fuel tank.

it only holds about 27ltrs.

that was also running BP Ultimate.

Soft-top is 42 litres....

I was lucky to get 25 in mine and half of that was leaking out..... Thank god for new tanks.....

Dunno what my range is but it improved by about as much as my ground clearance was disadvantaged byt the new tank and tank protector.

Since I never drive much on road I dunno what fuel economy I get :D

Wohoo... with "normal driving" managed an average of 8.5... 480kms on 41lts of fuel this weekend... man, I was stressing! Thought the needle was stuck so I stopped for a fill-up! :)

That's about the same (real) economy as a Daihatsu Terios! Weeeeeee :D
