my mate has a mitsubishi triton can only get first gear does anyone know wat the problem would be orwe are chasing a gear box its a 95 model can some one get back to me

Sounds as though the selector has poped out, You might be lucky enough to pop it back in through the top of the box ( ie removing the gear stick) Other wise you have to drop the gear box out and split it. Its not that hard if you no what your doing and where your looking if not it shouldn't be to expensive to take it to a a gear box place and get them to do it.
Then you might as well do all the bearings and seals while it's out.

This can be caused from wear and tear but it is usualy a result from changing gears to hard (ie slaming it from from first to second or visa versa pushing it hard it into first before stopping etc...)
