2.8ltr Isuzu oil change

Post by mortaygo »

I just did my first oil change on my 2002 Rodeo, the book said I needed 6.5ltrs of oil with a filter, which I put in, I am starting to think the book is a misprint, oil was almost doulbe what it should be on the dip stick.. I let a liter out and it is still way up on the dip stick, any thoughts people?

my 4jb1-t takes 4ltrs. Best advice is start at 4ltrs and top as you need as you can see they used multiple sized sumps on this engine.

Mark.
Its not cool, unless it's got boost :)

Most 4jb1-t dont like it if you fill them right to full either...
there is a picture of this under the bonnet of some
i filled mine to full and the oil came out the pressure side of the intake :-( made a bit of a mess
now i fill it to about 10mm below the full dot

thanks for those that replied, I will keep an eye on how much I am putting in to get an "almost full" reading on the dipstick
