Yes Jamie, thanks mate :D .
The weather was ndeed shithouse, as Jamie said, but the keen turned up at his shop to buy the dvd and to check out the fine engineering that is the Team Pirate vehicle.
It was good to meet you guys and Ice as well, my daughter came home and spent about an hour with me watching the dvd, she enjoys it as much as I do, then she headed to bed for a nap.
The dvd is awesome!!!!!
Over 3hours of action, the cameras were right in the action, sometimes, a bit too close, the music was good, not too loud so it didnt block out any engine sounds or awful clunking sounds when something broke. Well set out, I liked how it has been put together. A well spent 40bucks.
Thanks Jamie for putting on the day.
Thanks Pete, Tony, Steve and crew for running/organising the comp.
Well done to Australian Images for putting together a fantastic dvd in a short amount of time.
Congrats to you all.
Oh yeah, well done to Team Pirate, 3 stage wins.

I just have 1 thing to say, in the team profiles, it says that Team Hazard had 35inch centipedes, Im far from an expert, but theres no way that black zook was wearing 35s, or pedes, they were Boggers, and huge too, they were almost as big as the zook itself.

Is there anywhere on the Sunshine Coast that you can even buy the DVD? You would think that competitors would receive the DVD first.

Yeah I liked the DVD, BUT.... the sound track has some of the same songs as last years DVD and a heap of the Willowglen DVD's. I think the producers need to have a look at this in the future, you can't just re use the same songs every year.

Why not? It isn't easy to find FREE, good quality music that is easy to listen to as a soundtrack. Many up and coming bands want something for the use of their music. The exposure isn't always enough.

Hit up Triple J unearthed you could get heaps of free music from new and upcomming bands wanting to get their names out there.
If you keep using the same songs it becomes repetive (sp), boring and makes the DVD feel the same as last years in my opinion. But that's just me and my opinion. :D

Do you buy the dvds for the music??
Who really pays that much attention to the music anyway??
The music is there as a background to the action.

Don't get me wrong the action is Awesome and it's a great DVD, I don't buy it for the music but I think the backing music helps make the DVD. My opinion is using the same songs in different years DVD shows a lack of effort on the producers behalf, it's not hard to find other bands. :finger:

Oh Well.... Bring on next year

I was a little dissappointed with the sometimes loud background music. B U T the footage makes up for it......... Awesome glowing headers on Rhetts zook after the mud(closeup as the flames start). And with more that 3 hours........ Great effort. Well done.

Twon im guessing you didnt go on saturday either to get your copy either. I had to borrow a copy last night to watch it. It has a lot of footage and very long 3hrs. Good video but i think it missed some major footage/ mild stones for some competitors (team bundy driving Frame twister bonus) etc..
but i think every cometitor will be pleased at the farly equal time on the DVD.

I Enjoyed this years dvd watched it over 2 days with a few breaks inbetween, somone wanted to watch underbelly etc :)

for next year :

please "Dotty no" not 3 years in a row ...yes i know you cant please eveyone with the background music but it seems to be the sore point

Great footage but i did find i was wishing for a mute button for the music and still being able to hear the comentary and the action as it happens

Great to see the tribute to Glenn as well!

Thanks everyone for your feed back, it helps to have constructive feedback(not just whinging).

Music on DVD's has always been a contentious issue. Some people like no music while some prefer the music to be loud... we have usually gone for a happy medium so you can hear the music when the cars aren't doing much, but when they are, we drop the volume of the music right down.

Yes some of the music has been used on many of our DVD's, but it is harder than you think to find 3hrs of music from unsigned bands that fit. (We have heaps of soft relaxing music, but not much good for our DVD's) As MissForby said, some bands want good money for using their music and when only a couple of songs are useful, it works out too expensive.

Thanks Macca413, I'll check out Triple J Unearthed, but as we have found in the past with other similar things, there is usually more to it when your talking about commercial DVD's
