Nissan Son Of Trials Plus

Post by DUDELUX »

I just saw this on the Patrol 4x4 Club website.
It looks very much like Son Of Trials as we know it, with Standard Class, Touring Class and Traction Plus Class, except.....
Standard Class is pretty much the same as SOT.
Touring Class still has the 33inch tyre limit, but no limit to height, still no lockers, beadlocks, etc
Traction Plus Class will allow factory and aftermarket traction control, ie; lockers, and will also have a 35inch tyre limit.
First weekend in November, 6th and 7th at River Island.
Heres the link.
http://www.nissanpatrolclub.org/sot_plus.php
It will be interesting to see what tracks from SOT will be used, and whether they use a point sytem like most 4x4 comps or stay with the time system that SOT uses.
If anyone has any info on this event, please feel free to post it up for us all.

hmm close to Toperi I think. might give it a run if it doesn't clash and the lux or the 80 is in one piece.

Toperi is the end of November and this is the first weekend.
It will bassed on Sot put with Traction Plus Class added in, so you can leave the fuse in for the lockers and run 35's.

Is it going to be a 2day event?? I mean, I know its run over 2 days, but can I do all the tracks on the sat??
Its my sons 2nd bday on sunday, and I wont want to miss that.
How are you doing the points??
Based on time like SOT, or points system like other comps??

It will be the same as SOT. There will be mean times for each course. There will be a couple of new tracks for traction plus but they aren't going to be too hard.
It will be over 2 days but you can do all the tracks in 1 day

Apparently, the Patrol Club will be working on some new tracks for SOT+.
There is updates on the action forum.
I dont know whether the new tracks will be for the traction plus class or for all.
Only time will tell.

If this is replacing the Classic Trials that they ran last year, you can easily do all the tracks in one day. We did last year and won the whole thing
