diff forward = steering prob
diff forward = steering prob
I recently moved my front diff forward about an inch, well as far back as I could on the plates. the suspension is stock, now the tie rod is hitting the steering arm when in compresses and rubs a bit while driving.
does anyone else have this prob?
how was it fixed.
I have pondered an idea. here it is.
I moved the diff forward an inch. the pitman arm faces to the rear. if I got the pitman arm shortened by an inch then this would return the spacing to original.
it would effect the steering to the point of not have full lock maybe. maybe I can just adjust stops so that it will swing further.
this mod would effectivly make the steering lighter as I am swing a shorter arm hense making bigger tires at lower pressures easier to turn.
this was just an idea, but am keen to know if anyone else has had this prob. or is this why spring and shackle lifts are used with spua?

yeah I spose the less altering to the steering setup the better.
I will ponder a while and then decide what to do, but thanks for input.
maybe I will go Spoa, or just move it back and keep cutting like drewfus said.
