GQ Rear door central locking acutator

Post by jtraf »

Both the rear doors on the wifes GQ no longer unlock due to the actuator breaking the little plastic mechanism that locks and unlocks the doors...I rang nissan today to get a price and they are $300 each for the actuators.....

Not interested in that but in the hope I can buy some second had ones does anyone know if there is another nissan that has the same actuator that I can get from say pick-a-part or somewhere for cheap. Skyline, pintare etc etc even another make as I am sure these parts were not a special built item just for nissan

Failing that I will buy a central locking kit from Autobarn or the like but that is more work than simply bolt in bolt out

thanks James

Don't know about other nissans having the same parts but its usually only a 20 min job once the trim is off with the aftermaket jobs. They are cheap as and still work ok. good luck.

I know the aftermarket ones but allow 4 hours to strip fit and neaten up.....

I ended up going to Pick-a-part and got a couple actuators out of late model pintara.....same part just plug and off we go....good as new and only $15 each instead of $300 each

hey mate i had this problem with my passanger door. the little plastic clip the goes into the actuator broke due to the door lock getting sticky and getting harder and harder to lock. over time it worked every now and again but then one day i desided to fix it.

i threw some lanolin on the lock to free it up abit. probs get some grease soon to...
