LS2 dipstick part numbers

Post by killalux »

Hi Guys,
I am trying to order some dipsticks and tubes to suit the LS1/LS2 with the truck sump fitted. Does anyone have access to the part numbers for these. Or have a VIN number for a silverado fitted with the LS2 engine.
the GM dealer i deal with has had issues with getting the wrong part apparantly without a part number.

Also If anyone is interested in purchasing these I can add a few extra to the order. Cost will be $50-$60 for dipstick and tube depending on how many we get.

Thanks
Steve

hey mate ring eagle - they have them and know what you want.

I bought mine there.

There aren't that many sumps - front drop and 2 different rear drop as far as I know. Truck is deep and camaro is shallow.

I have one of the dipsticks here with the number still on it if you want the number to eliminate it.

What's wrong with modifying the commo's dip stick? Will the new sticks fit alright with aftermarket headers?

well for one I dont have a commo dipstick anymore (it was broken) so i thought i will just get the correct one.

And I personally would rather just buy the correct part rather then modifying the commodore one. They are a pain to modify.
The truck dipsticks should still be fine with aftermarket headers.

as for getting them for eagle, its cheaper to get them from the US, and even cheaper if I get a few extra's to sell off.

Still fits tho. Only pain I had was making it fit around the marks headers

Fill sump up with 6 litres take measure scribe on new full mark. If your real tricky you could cut the right amount off the top of the stick and repin it to the handle and it'd be right. Spose I only had to do it once where as killalux is doing a few conversions so it'd be easier to just buy em.

I got them for you yesterday. Its in the ute.
I'll post it up later.

I bought a new camaro pickup as they didn't have stock earlier.

Here you go mate:

12610053 - Truck rear drop
12551581 - Camaro shallow rear drop.

If you have a tape handy could you measure the depth of the truck sump at the back - from the block to the base. Thinking I might sel the camaro and go a truck seeing as I'm going TT and no longer buggy.
hope that helps.

Sorry this is going a bit off topic, but has anyone run the camaro sump? They look like they would clear that steering arm better on a patrol.
