Coil Spring Mounting
Im thinking of changing the rear end of my lux to run Coils instead of leaves.
What have ppl down to mount coils to thier rig ??
Would using some plate and locking the springs to it be ok , or should i try and cut some mounts of a current coil vechile and try and transplant them onto my rig ?
The axle end should be fine cause ill prolly use either a surf rear diff or a prado rear end (disk brakes yeah baby yeah).

Jimbo, on the phone to mannel today he can get new spring mounting plates to suit 4runner [and probably others] for 35 bucks each. That was diff end, top you would just use plate. I wish i had of known that before, would have saved us spending ages cutting mine off trying to be neat so we could reuse them.
spaz ill have a talk to my mate who bought all the arms and made coil mounts to do a hilux rear but he's lazy and doesnt wanna do it any more so hes got every thing there and it will be pretty cheap i think
GQ patrol arms,4 coil plates to take a 175mm round coil and a standard set of patrol coils which i think will give 2-3 inch lift but flex pretty nicely

sweet, i wont be going with a prado diff now as i just got a few quotes for one complete and it would be cheaper to put a dana 60 in the rear.
Some good idea for me th think about, i was thinking of doing something like the yanks do, that will allow my to change the height of the top mounting, by a few inches.
