Ladder bar pics

Just chasing a few pics of ppls ladder bars. Is there any special length you have to have compared to the driveshalft? Thanks Rhett

I would run it as close to the tailsharft lenght as possible so they move in unison, But by runnig the front to a shakle it is not so important,as it can move for and aft anyway.This is also improtant as it lets the Ladder bar move with the springs.

the eyeball engineering one we made on tonka's lux was about the same length as the driveshaft (well to the centre bearing anyway). it was also parallel to the shaft. hopefully there will be some pics soon.

that set up will bend the shackle mount at the chassis. I had that set up on my zook as i had very little room available and it didnt work.

I ended up changing it. I cant find a photo of how i did it, i think i still have the old ladder bar at work. I will take a pic of it if i stil have it.

i'm also worried about the booger welds at the chassis crossmembers. i think if there is a lot of pinion tilt, the whole bar will lift and rip off the xmember mount. :shock:

time will tell.

Have been looking and thinking and looking and thinking some more (also known as a few weekend drinks) I think I have worked out how I am going to takle my ladder bar. But before I start does it have to be in the exact centre of the diff? As I cannot C how I will achive this on my lower mont with a suzi diff. And would it be advantages to make one of the arms ajustable length for future lift and or diff rotation?

tonka's was pretty much centred too. it should be easy on a zook diff, the pinion is already offset. unless i missed the fact that you have a hilux diff. in which case, copy mickbj's design. we did.

I have started. top mount is dead centre but bottom is bout an inch to the passenger side. I can't C how an inch could hurt.

don't worry, tonka's lower mount is about 3 inches offset at least
