Hey guys, Ive heard of people having a 2inch exhaust the whole way from the extractors? Is that really a straight 2 inch bit of pipe and none of that stuff in between?
Is there any advantages in it? Like more power? Cheaper?

exhaust system question
I assume you are asking if you need to run mufflers/resonators?
If so, then yes, you do. At least a "triple flow" muffler. I'd recommend a 12" "hot dog" resonator as well.
No, there will be no measureable change in power by adding a muffler/resonator. 2" is plenty big enough for a sierra so there's little restriction added by the mufflers.

Okay thanks for that, still kinda stumped on the people that dont run mufflers/resonators ? People say 2" the whole way which I assume they mean nothing but 2" pipe the whole way?

No, I think you're misinterpreting what they are saying. They're saying that the whole system is 2", or in some cases they might be saying 2" "straight through", implying the muffler is a straight through design.
Some people think loud cars sound good. I'm not one of them. Good sounding cars can be loud and get away with it, but it's a fine line between sounding cool and being annoying.
Sierra motors don't sound good loud IMHO.
Non-turbo engines need a muffler or two or your ears will bleed.
PS I run a catalytic converter on anything I build. Not only is the right thing to do, Cats also act as a muffler too.

Ever heard those Excels at the lights sounding like a wet fart as they take of in a cloud of clutch smoke with all the pace of your nan's Gemini? That's about what you'll get from an unmuffled 2" exhaust fed by a mighty 1.3L or even 1.6L engine. Per Steve's comments - for a 1.3L your best bet is a well muffled and damped (eg triple flow muffler and 12" hotdog ressy) 1.75" or 2" system. You're not going to lose any measurable performance through the muffler and resonator.
as above... infact for 1.3L i've been told by a few people who know exhausts well that 2" is a touch too big - better to go 1.5 or 1.75" - upgrade the cat and muffler to the same size, add good extractors and you'll have a great setup. Be sure to specify you want a quiet system.
Why quiet? Well for one on long drives it'll be much better, even though the soft top flapping, gear box whining, tyres howling and engine screaming gets to you, you dont want to add to it!
Then theres offroad - you want to be able to hear what your spotter is saying, or what theyre talking about on the CB, not "FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRT...FARRRRRRT" etc etc the whole time you're driving.

i have a 2" straight though exust with extractors and a straight though muffler and extractors on a 1.6 carby and its a very quiet system commpered to the twin cam engins single cams are extremly quieter you could tell as soon as you disconect the exust from the manifolds and if you are considering a new exust system make sure you install a new cat there is a very hight chance that by now it will be all bloked(when you cut it out if light is not easily seen when looking through it has melted and in majorly resticting the flow. i had a massive power increase the installation of a new cat had a large part in this.
