45 series power steer options

Im looking at buying a 45 series within the next couple of days and power steer is a must. I've just spent a bit searching, there appears to be alot of options.
The engine is a 2f and its in a 77 model ute. I'm not planning on doing this conversion myself i'm planning on paying someone to do it asap.
So couple of questions
1. In your opinion what conversion is working best for you? 60 series seems popular but im thinking an adjustable column (75,80?) could work best as the cab is extremely squishy for me being a tall bloke and im wondering if i should go adjustable.
2. Approx how much do you think im looking at for the whole conversion with labour?
3. Anyone froim the sunshine coast or se qld reccomend someone to do this?

Hey Mate,
I did the powersteering conversion on my swb. I used a 55 series column, 60's steering box, modified 60 series steering arms, draglink etc. All the stuff I got from the wreckers cost me a few hundred bucks and about 6 to 8 hrs worth of work. I'm not sure what someone would charge you an hr to put it all in.

Cheers for the response mate. Theres a few people il be hitting up and brooksy will be one of them. I've started looking round for some parts. Will the 55 be an easyier fit?

Yep, the 55 is way easier to fit than a later model tilt column. Its virtually teh same as the 40, just a tad longer and has a unit joint at the firewall instead of a rag joint to the steering box.

x2, my 45 was this exact set up and worked very well. Just be sure to attach the steering box to the chassis really well, mine started to crack out the chassis. Done properly it's hard to tell it from factory, even the DOT didn't pick it :armsup:
Don't take life too seriously...it isn't permanent.
