i know heaps of different conversions are done into a rn105 lux. but with limited funds, would a v6 out of the same shape 4runner be an easy conversion.
I'de love to stay with a toyota engine but don't wanna go down the v8 or turbo path. iwas thinking i'de be able to use engine, gear box loom etc and be fairly reliable and prob cheaper than a 3rz. i know there would be alot more things i could do to the 3rz but wanna keep it simple and cheap.and most of all reliable.whats your thoughts and has any one done this.
Also if i manage to find a damaged 4runner could i put my single cab body on the 4 runner chassie

3rz or v6 4runner

It would be if you like fixing the worst motor toyota has made (v6 surf motor), and paying big fuel bills, last but not least more rego, and making no more power or torque than the 3rz.
The decision is easy from where im standing .
3rz's arent expensive, people just get ripped off imo, if your paying anymore than around the 1200 dollar mark for motor ecu and loom you've paid to much IMO.
If your handy with a welder, spanners etc, you can get away with a 3rz conversion quiet cheaply and can be done in a weekend.

I presume you mean the 4runner V6 not the surf, I dont think they made the surf's in a v6.
just out of interest, why would you think the 4runner v6's are the worst toyota has made? im quite curious rather than sturring the boat.
I just bought a v6 4runner.
im curious about what to look out for and why you seem to think they are so crap. as well as what future problems to look for.
have you had one?
