whats a resonable price?

Post by reidys lux »

Hi all,
I've got an 1984 toyota diesel 2H motor, with 4 speed g/box and transfer attached. the injector pump has been rebuilt recently and overall the motor has done about 220,000 k's. The motor runs well and gearbox and transfer work and is still in a hj47
I was wanting to keep this motor as a spare for my 40 series, but need funds to fix another problem.
My question is, what is a resonable price to sell this for? should i seperate transfer case and gearbox? i need it gone for funds, but cant afford to throw it away for chips.
Any opinions will be appreciated.
cheers

$2000-$3000 all up

I paid $650 for box and case with shafts recently out of a HJ60

A good motor should pull $2000 if it's had work so $2500 ish all up my 2 cents

I would put the lot on ebay starting at 1000. frankly the 4speed isn't worth much. A wrecker here were selling them for 100 bucks at one point to get rid of them.

1hz's go for around 2k, 2h's are only worth about 500-1000.

If your 2 2h's are the same you could swap the pumps over so you keep the good one.

Opps didn't read and assumed 5sp a 4sp is prob worth 300-500 with case and shafts.

I'd buy the motor if it was complete and running with rebuilt pump for a grand any day I think you'd get $2000 but might take a while.

Thanks for your input SCANAS and oldmate. Have decided to put it up on a stand and keep it. The more I pulled off the ute around it the better the condition the motor appeared to be in.
