first triton
Hey guys,
Been following the forum for a couple of months now, since i brought my first 4x4. A 1992 turbo diesel MJ Triton, single cab style side ute. Picked it up off one of my old mans mates for what i consider a pretty good price.
Came with all the usual mods, safari snorkel, 2 way, bull bar, tow bar, spotties, mags and after market stereo.
Just put a new set of 31s on, a 2.5inch exhaust and transfer case mount.
I was also put onto a product made by a company called Cost Effective Maintenance. They make an engine oil cleaner, when i first changed the oil i was only getting about 4.5 liters out. i used this stuff and got 6 liters out! was pretty impressed with that. also just started using their de-coking product to clean out the heads, turbo and what not. let you know how it goes.
I'm pretty keen to put an intercooler on the old girl, but i am strugling to find kits or ideas from other people on this project. Just wondering if anyone has done this or has seen it done. was think about taking a top mount intercooler from a later model triton and fitting it to mine. any ideas or problems with this? also what was the first of the triton that came out with an intercooler?
do you guys see many of these tritions getting around? since getting the ute i havent seen one the same yet. seen one dual cab, plenty of 4x2 but yet to see one like mine.
great forums guys. its now my home page!

Gday fellas good to hear about more tritons getting around, I've had my 92 MH single cab triton for a while now its only the 2.6 petty but she goes alright.
So far she been lifted a couple of inches, had some new 31" muddies bolted up, extractors and a 2" high flow sports exhaust, polished alloy bullbar fitted, and the usual UHF, Head unit, speakers, spotties, ute box ect... fitted
Mines the only modified one around here (sunshine coast, QLD) that im aware of any way.
Planing on doing a body lift in the next couple of weeks and then nocking up a set of rock sliders for the old girl.
Cheers Jonezy
