Landcruiser Engine Upgrade

Post by Panteli »

Hi!
I am rtying to replace my BJ-40 Diesel engine (1984) with a new Prado/Colorado 3.0 Turbo Diesel and manual 5 speed gearbox. Has anybody tried such a thing? I am told that it will be difficult because the engine relies heavily on electronics. Aslo, are there any such engines available to buy in the US? I also have great restoration pitcures but I do not know where to post them

Thanks,
Pantelis

If you have a rolled Prado/Colorado then you should have all the electronics ! Dont buy "just" and engine or you will have many peices to find later !

I havn't heard of it being done to a 40 but its been to other cruisers before here in Oz.
