My car blew a head gasket so I'm
going to get it crack and pressure checked,
is there any thing else i should get checked/changed while its off?

The 16a's are faily good. Any good shop will find any problem doing a pressure test. But seeing as you have it off I would put a full VRS through it and shave the head down to get higher compression. measure your valve clearance and shave it down so you only have 3mm or so clearance. It will give you a little more power on the get go.
