turbo manifold t3/4 suit 2.8 hilux?
Hi im chasing some info on turbo manifolds to suit 2.8 diesel hilux, does someone manufacture these manifolds? or would it have to be custom made?
Cheers Mitch

Yeah a t3 may be a bit big, but its more common to buy than a t25 that a lot of kits come with. All I'm really after is a cheap turbo setup I can put together for less than $1000 + exhaust. So does anyone know if someone makes one or not?

get a second hand kit will most likely be the only way to get a turbo setup + exhaust for under a $100083zook wrote:Yeah a t3 may be a bit big, but its more common to buy than a t25 that a lot of kits come with. the only reason im looking down this route is i think it'd be cheaper to buy a second hand t25 or the likes and buy or make a manifold instead of the ct20 option.. And all the plumbing is pretty simple, so why buy a second hand kit for $1000 + when i could make/buy something cheaper and potentially better?

The AXT turbo manifold appears to have a T25 flange, however when i enquired about buying a manifold seperately off these guys they weren't interested in helping.
Denco use Schwitzer (Borg Warner) turbo's, not sure what flange they have.
DTS uses a mitsubishi turbo, again unsure what the flange is like but doesn't appear to be garrett style
\
Turboglide uses garrett for all their other kits, so could assume the same for the 3L. Turbo in the picture looks t25-ish
IMO look for something in the GT25 series. GT25/54 may work nicely

if the only S/H kits you can find are $1000+ then your not looking hard enough. I picked uo an entire hilux with an aftermarket turbo kit fitted for $600 and I see second hand kits on ebay all the time going between $400-$600. One of the guys at work did what you're wanting to do, by the time he bought the turbo and the flanges and all the piping the costs were $500-$600 then add the time spent to make it all up and fit it. It may be just me but I'd rather get a complete S/H kit for that same price and not stuff around with all the welding and fabricating to make a kit83zook wrote: so why buy a second hand kit for $1000 +

No worries, There will be other manufacturers out there but those are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head. Safari/aps/arb (same same) would also probably use a Garrett flange if they do a 3l kit. Chuck an add up in the wanted section - that's how I found the safari manifold for my 2h83zook wrote:Cheers dogbreath_48 thats what im chasing mate thanks

The turbo glide kits are a T25, i had the kit on my 2.8 for 3 years and now have the same kit on my 3.0L..
Jst a bit of info, not sure what they sell the manifolds for but..
Thought it would not be too hard to get a manifold off a 2Lte and buy/ make a flange to suit the turbo you intend on using, cut off the CT20 flange and weld the new one on...?

i've been thinking about it, and after looking on boostcruising.com i've found that a good secondhand t25 off a ca18det can be picked up for less than $200, and a guy near my work has a computer plasma cutter to cut manifold flange's.. soo why not make my own manifold other bits at home?

Turbo Manifold
Priced turboglide for a manifold separately and they wanted $450 from memory with whatever flange pattern you want.
