i run 35x15.5x15 on 15x10 rims @25psi road @8-10 offroad
i found them to be good on road bit noisy but in a fj40 what isnt
offroad i only ever found smooth rock to be a challange for them never lost a bead even with some crazy stunts
mud was brilliant they did slew and yaw but a bit of throttle and they correct sharply and clean out fast (chunck smashed my mirror)
id rate them 8.5/10
just wish death wobbles wasnt an issue when worn down to 30%

Hi.
I have used many different sizes of the radial claws and found them to be a very good allrounder for a mud tyre that is actually a decent price. Yes they are loud on the road (more so when worn) and can get slippery in the wet, but other than that i really liked them, they handled everything i threw at them inc sand, road, rock, water, mud and did not wear out too fast. They are very grippy but as others have stated they do tend to slide on the sideslopes.

Hey My girl runs the new style claw on her patrol in a 35x12.5 and myself having owned claws before rate these as well they have performed awesome and in our runs have out done the radial treps and mtz like i said rate these right up there

I've run 33 x 12.5 r 15 on my 40 and my 45.
With the claws, the 40 went from standard height - lifted - standard height with 16 inches of flex at each corner/stretched wheelbase, and twin locked with the claws on
the 45 troopy is bone standard.
Other rubber i've had to compare them to: BFG All terrains. BFG Muddies both in 33 x 12.5. Hancook muddies in 31 x 10.5. Cheap retread muddies in 31 x 12.5. 7.50 r 16 dunlop super diggers or whatever those chunky bar tread type things are called. oh and q78 swampers
On road - better than BFG Muds. both had similar dry road behaviour, with the bfg's being a little more tail happy, the claws being slightly more likely to understeer. although with a rear auto locker, they didn't seem to get any worse understeer wise, BUT the BFG's understeered as much as the claws with the rear auto locker. in the wet, the claws again slightly understeered when pushed. the bfg's tended to let go at all 4 corners at once. braking: No tire i have driven on has braked better than the claw. especially in the wet... on gravel, the claws tended to oversteer more than understeer, and they were quite fun and predictable with the auto locker. bfg muddies tended to 4 wheel slide more in the gravel.
Lightyears ahead of BFG all terrains. the AT"s were probably the worst tire i've driven on. period. so not much to say. oh, and the AT's Were noisier on road than the claws.
. better than Hancook muddies. the hancooks pretty much behaved like the BFG muddies above. onroad vs the Q78's... well the Q78's lose out everywhere. as did the dunlop 7.50r16s. and the retreads.
Offroad. at first i was unnerved by the "side slide" everyone else talks about. but having driven the same tracks in similar conditions back to back in the same rig, with different tires on, i found the claws slid sideways at about the same point as the BFG muds, and long after the BFG AT's would slide sideways. the reason, i think, it feels more pronounced is because at the point the AT's and the BFG MT's are sliding sideways, it also feels like they have no more grip to go forwards either, where the claws still feel like they have forward grip to spare.
In the sticky mud, they were probably on par with the Q76's, and ahead of the rest of the pack. on slippery clay, they were slightly behind the q78's, and ahead of the rest of the pack. in the rocks, behind q78's, and ahead of the pack. now i haven't had the q78's on the sand, but i've had the rest, and the claw eats them all on the sand. yes if you run your pressures too high they like to dig. and if you sit there spinning them, you will end up on your diffs, BUT that's driver error, and effectively is the same for all tires.
I tend to run Muddies on sand at about 12psi, and at this pressure, the claws outperform the bfg's. on one very soft beach where the tide was coming in, and our entire group was stuck, i aired them down to 6psi in desperation, and not only did i self recover, i dragged the other members of the group out... and ended up having enough traction to cause transfer case windup bad enough to warrant jacking one wheel up to be able to shift out of 4wd.
Now as for noise. when they were new, They were the quietest tire i've run. they have a bit of a rumble now they've worn (and worn unevenly due to a bent front diff housing), but on par with the bfg muds, quieter then the q78's and quieter than the BFG AT's.
Customer support was above and beyone what was expected. I lost a couple of lugs, and the rep from Mickey T was happy to look over them with me and figure out what went wrong. they were clear that if i wasn't satisfied that the damage was due to external factors, they would replace all 4. we ended up finding they were contacting with an old exhaust bracket, but the guy was still happy to replace them with me paying a pro rata cost for the wear i'd put on them. that was set up through ryanno, even though i'd never met him, and had never bought tires off him.
Now the only problem i have is that i'll never buy them again! but only because i've moved to having some cheap Highway treads for weekdays, and some Bias ply offroad specials for weekends.
