YURI reduction hubs
I'm interested in details of YURI's reduction hubs. Anyone have any good pics or drawings showing the mechanical detail.
I could ask them directly, but wonder if they would provide any info without a sale.

Not sure but I would think its something along these linesraptorthumper wrote:I'm interested in details of YURI's reduction hubs. Anyone have any good pics or drawings showing the mechanical detail.

From Yuri's page they are 3.64:1 ratio so if that is an exact ratio (and not an approximation) then it means a 25T tooth pinion gear, 66T internal gear, and 20T planet gears, (corrected by 1/2 a tooth).
Planetary gear ratio = (No teeth in internal gear / No of teeth in pinion) + 1
Just interested in how Yuri's design is setup. I like the idea of being able to swap back to 1:1 ratio by locking the internal gear to the pinion gear so you get 1:1 ratio.
This would give normal highway gearing, or super strong crawling ratio if you could lock the internal and pinion together.

I got a price 4 yrs ago and they were around 11-12k then so 14k now would be right.B.D.R wrote:Thank's mate, i sent him an E-mail asking, but if thats the price then they wont be comming to MelbourneRhett wrote:Don't quote me but I think he has one set left on the shelf for around 14 grand give or take a grand.
But that also works out to over 3 sets of Mog diffs.
Have you seen the size of the gears in mog reduction hubs, they are huge and I can vouge for the strenth of a mog diff and hubs,I have done some nasty things to them.Rhett wrote:Yuris are stronger thoe, mogs have only two gears. Thats twice the tooth contact, ease of getting air lockers centres no pinion coverstion, A lot shorterin the pinion wieght ect. But 14grand is a lot of money.
