Lightweight made from 40x20 rect tube with 4mm aluminum checker plate,
has a hatch to access the batteries under the front, has a 1100x350x350 toolbox on each side to lock stuff in and still enough room to put a lounge or fridge in between. Measures 1700x1500, so is narrower than the wheel arches with hang out guards, plan to shorten it to toolbox length and use a drop down tailgate for long stuff. Still got to put a 40x40 rack bar on it yet too. 255/85x16 spare tyre fits underneath. 20litre water tank on one side and 4kg gas cylinder air tank on the other. Tool boxes come off in about 5 minutes work. One contains the compressor, the other is to be turned into a fridge later.
Yes, it's a light practical tray not a comp only tray, a bit high to lift stuff into sometimes though. I saved 250kg by ditching the steel tray that was on it and bare tray can weigh in at only 2.3 tonne. Great for mud
And a crap photo of it.

Not finished yet i still need to fit the centre section but i am building an alloy fuel cell for it first with a filler neck so i can fill it from the side.

Has never been out of Rego since i rolled it. I have paid more than a years worth of rego and it never touched a public roadway. Its just easier here in QLD to keep a modified rig registered. Rather than building it and trying to register it after.
I still need to get all my mods certified but that wont be a problem as i spoke to my engineer before i started re-building it. Bigest issue i have is the fact the cab is an 86 and the frame is a 93. So some ADR mods may need to be done but shouldnt be to much drama.

Ruff have you been through the whole surrogate VIN process for the new cab. If so, was this a hassle?
